Paul Lambert is a French painter known for his depiction of Parisian scenes. This oil on canvas painting is typical of his Paris cityscapes done with sharp black lines and muted colors and depicts the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris view from the Ile Saint Louis. He regularly illustrated images of life in Paris. Signed on the bottom left corner: "P Lambert".
Originally framed in a carved wood frame with gesso application and aged off-white and gilded matte.
