Of course it has its variety of scratches and such (some compromise to the gold-painted decorations on both lids), but overall it’s in what I would call “very good antique condition.” I suspect the floral painting on the front will “pop” a bit more if the varnish is gently cleaned.

Someone has generously constructed a wooden plinth to elevate the bin off the floor – about 5 inches.

Here’s a great piece of 19th Century Americana which will be a treasure for your home.

Measurements: Height of the metal bin itself, 35 ½ high, 13 ½ deep, 19 ½ wide. Add five inches to the height with the plinth installed and approximately a couple of inches to the width and depth. See less
