with this piece, we are in the middle of the reign of king louis xiii (the original creator of versailles and father of the future sun king), that sees the birth of a new form of furniture, the armoire. In perfect tradition with the louis xiii period.
this armoire features a large cornice sitting above two nicely carved doors with raised geometric motifs (' en pointes de diamants'). The lower section comprises one large drawer resting on an oversized beveled plinth.
