The painting depicts a country farm … Read more This is a nice vintage rural country American farm landscape painting by Jamie Mcelhiney. The painting depicts a country farm home landscape and a car. Very nicely done farm house landscape. The painting is signed by the artist in the lower right side corner also on the back there are some information about the artist. The painting is painted with watercolors on paper. Displayed under glass and mat in silver wooden frame, there is an attached hanging wire on the reverse back side for easy wall installation.

JAMIE MCELHINEY

Jamie Mcelhiney's paintings develop from their surfaces , these dramatic water- colors , examples of the purest realism , have all the fluidity in nature. The turbulence and the harmony of native and rural American are brought to mind by his paintings.

McElhiney's work is all direct result of his multi - cultural life. Traveling extensively as a youth with his family throughout the orient, South America and the entire North American continent , he absorbed all the ethnic colors and forms to wich his parents exposed him. His father , through his traveling military life style , and his mother , a noted portrait artist , sensitized him to all the beauties the family encountered. His early and most formative training came from his mother. At her early death , his life changed radically. He threw himself into the formal study of art; first at the university of Colorado at Boulder and later at Paier art School in New Haven , Connecticut. After three years or more travel during his own art career , he entered the Ringling school of fine arts at Sarasota , Florida . In no way did his heritage from his mother , who was proud of her American Indian lineage. Mcelhiney as shown widely in the gold coast of Florida as well as one shows in Detroit , Cheyenne Wyoming , and New York. Hi is presently living in Savannah , GA. With wife and 3 children. He maintains his studio and framing operation out of his home in Savannah. See less
