Charming Irish souvenir ashtray in the shape of a lucky 3-leaf clover. The piece features a central image of a draft horse drawn wagon and is adorned with clover petals and gilt edges. Mark en verso of Carrigaline Potter Co Ltd., founded 1928 in Mount Rivers, Carrigaline Cork Ireland by Hodder Walworth Blacker Roberts, who recruited his lead potter from Staffordshire England. We date this piece to the mid-20th C., the heyday of the firm's production before closing in the 1970s.
Excellent vintage condition with no chips, no cracks, no crazing; gilt edge wear appropriate to age and previous enjoyment.
