The former Cunard luxury liner, named after King George of England's wife HRH Queen Mary, was launched in 1934 from Southhampton England and berthed from its final voyage in 1967 at Long Beach, CA. Since that time, it has become an Southern California icon and operates as a hotel & event center, loving restored and appearing much as it did in its heyday.
This ashtray/dish is a souvenir of this one-of-a-king lodging. Perfect to use for its intended purpose, to display as a conversation piece, or to serve as a catchall for coins, rings, or soaps. Original foil label still intact on bottom signifying the piece was marketed by Crown West Porcelain of Los Angeles and fabricated in Japan.
Excellent condition; possibly surplus vintage stock. Appears to be unused with original foil label intact.
