This is a gorgeous and rare pair of 2-quart casseroles/serving dishes that retain the original lid. These stunning treasures are the fruits of collaboration between Georges Briard who added his designs onto blank pieces from Fire King. They feature lovely gold leaf fleck for a crackle-like motif and the lids are adorned with many marvelous teal & gold leaf Briard Medallions. These fabulous pieces are not signed but are attribute to famed mid mod artist Georges Briard. From the vibrant colors to the modernist medallions details, this set is a true treasure, and it is in amazing condition for the age making it highly sought after and collectable. These would dazzle on any tablescape from a spring brunch or quiet evening at home or elevate your status at a PTA meeting or the neighbors potluck!
Georges Briard (May 17, 1917 – July 30, 2005) was a designer in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. He is most well known for his signature dishware and glassware - everything from cups and plates to gold plated serving dishes. His signature collections were retailed at noted department stores, such as Neiman Marcus and Bonwit Teller.
