The compact design and decor of this chair is somehow similar to the work of artists and architects of the Wiener Werkstätte group at the beginning of the 20th Century. We have not come across a chair like this one before, and sadly its actual designer is currently unknown to us.

The firm rectangular frame of solid dark oak wood together with the chamfered back legs covered in a distinct light brown elm veneer are the main design features. The seat is covered with red colour leather cushion and is pinned with small round metal nails. The backrest has got a dark brown cushion in the middle which is visible from both sides.

This chair was sourced from one of the old Villa houses in Brno and it is possible that it was a part of a bespoke project designed particularly for that Villa.

This chair is in good vintage condition showing some wear and tear on parts of the original leather cushions. The wood has been cleaned and polished again to its original condition. It is also showing some minimal wear. See less
