Dimensions: 1-½”H x 14”W x 7”D
Encased in a navy blue leather box and protected by gold velvet, this set of 4 serving utensils from the early 1900s includes a carving fork & knife with a coordinating salad serving fork & spoon. The carving knife is engraved with the monogram of the maker’s initials and the word “inoxydable” for stainless or rust-proof in French. The carving fork features a protective lever attached to the back; the idea is that to keep the meat from slipping away when cutting, you stick the fork in from the left, directly into the path of the knife when it exits the meat being cut. The salad fork and spoon are fit with amber celluloid heads and offer a lovely contrast of transparency and lightness to the polished metal. Make sure to view the detailed images for a closer look. Sold as a set.
