Ticking off some of my favorite aspects of any painting: first, “industrial.” I love anything having to do with machinery, … Read more Ticking off some of my favorite aspects of any painting: first, “industrial.” I love anything having to do with machinery, industry, workers, or any like testimony to America’s gritty work past. “Workman’s Shack” couldn’t be more appealing! Second, I’m a big fan not of rampant Cubism, but the more subtle suggestion of that form, which I find in the diagonal lines and overall treatment of the sky. Finally, color. The sky’s blues and pinks and whites are very appealing, not to mention the vibrant browns, oranges, and greens below.

The frame is vintage and original to the painting. I’m estimating 1940s based mostly on the frame, limed oak.

This painting is nothing less than a “thing of beauty” from my perspective.

“Opal Danz?” I have no information about the artist. I purchased the painting in the San Francisco Bay area.

Measurements: including the frame, 22 wide by 26 ½ high. The image itself: 17 ½ wide by 21 ½ high. Excellent condition. See less
