On The Fostoria Glass Company:
Started in 1887, the Fostoria Glass Company was one of the first to realize the importance of developing fine quality blown stemware, as well as the first to produce complete dinner services in crystal. Many presidents, from Eisenhower through Reagan, were known to have ordered glassware from Fostoria. Introduced in 1915, the American pattern is the most successful pattern in the history of glass making.
