This rare and opulent set of trays from Georges Briard features a gold leaf pattern known as "Pineapple Ambrosia," the set includes a largescale divided tray and 4 mini-trays. The mid-century glamour and old world elegance is a signature of Briard giftware, from the unique damsk background created by alternating transparent, frosted and gold leaf lines to the immaculate detail of the signature motif, these treasures are simply stunning and in amazing condition for the age, with very few scuffs or fading. All of which makes the set highly sought after and collectable as each piece is signed in gold leaf. Georges Briard (May 17, 1917 – July 30, 2005 ) was a designer in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. He is most well known for his signature dishware and glassware - everything from cups and plates to gold plated serving dishes. His signature collections were retailed at noted department stores, such as Neiman Marcus and Bonwit Teller.
