Two stickers: Scheurich and Handgemalt (handpainted) in good condition, with no chips or cracks - ‘Foreign 529-50’ stamped to the base.
The designer Heinz Siery is responsible for many of the forms that Scheurich produced between the 1950s and 60s.
Scheurich started production in 1954, which was quite late compared to other West German pottery companies. Scheurich became one of the largest manufacturers of ceramics in Germany from the 1950s to the 1980s. Some lines were specifically produced for foreign markets, such as the ‘Europline’ and mould designs marked ‘Foreign’. The distribution of some forms and glazes indicates that some may have been produced for specific countries.
