Monumental mixed media painting titled "Una Capa Para El Rey" which translates to "A Cape For The King". Expressionist painting by American artist Michelle Betancourt living in Barranquilla, Colombia. The large scale painting features a figural lion in bright primary hues of red, blue, green, and yellow. The artist uses Impasto technique creating bold and heavy strokes to pull the viewer in, conveying strength and power while evoking emotion.
This painting was created as part of a 2009 Art Series named "Africa Enigmatica". It was exhibited at the Colombian Embassy in Miami prior to being purchased by a private collector.
