The set is encrusted with geometric wood pieces and decorated with patterns resembling kamon (clan or Japanese family weapons). The foot of the furniture is covered with a cork veneer. The marquetry technique Yosegi Zaiku appeared in Japan in the second half of the 19th century, and was used to decorate the Himitsu-Bako secret boxes, but was also used to decorate many other craft objects such as trays, jewelry , chests \.
