Francois Rousseau (b.1967) Living in France.
Rousseau began his photography career in 1995, after ten years of painting. In 1996 numerous magazines in Paris commissioned his work. Currently he alternates between commercial fashion and art photography, and has produced works incorporating fashion and reportage, with the participation of urban "tribes" - boxers, basket players, soccers, rappers, surfers and athletes.
He has produced a series of four stories called Eden. They are - Eden (2000), Belle Etoile (2001), Al Djana (2003), and Return for surfing (2004). In 2002 Rousseau was the recipient of "Villa Medicis hors les murs" Award. For the Medicis project he went to New York to shoot Habibi.
In 2003 he was commissioned to shoot pictures for the famous calendar "Les dieux du stade - 2004", a nude calendar portraying the French National Rugby Team, that sold 160 thousand copies.
