About Paul Tilley
Paul Raymond Tilley (1891–1990) was born in Illinois on May 16, 1891 and grew up in Pittsburg, Kansas, and later lived in Houston before settling in Southern California. He was a man of many parts and during his long life worked as a sign painter, a soldier, a rancher, a game warden, a photographer, and an artist. Despite the loss of hearing he suffered in World War I, he was a gifted musician and played the organ. He was active as a painter in Laguna Beach of the realism approach in the 1950s and 60s, specializing in coastal landscapes and showing his work regularly at the Festival of Arts See less
