Offered is an antique French provincial miniature salt box with a carved floral spray to the front, in walnut. An unusual small size, this french country piece was used to store salt in the kitchen, within reach of the open fire. The front piece slides up for easy access to the salt stored inside. This kitchen accessory has a rich walnut patina and could still be used and hung on a wall, placed on a counter, or displayed on a shelf. c.1920
