A mesmerizing large Murano opal white and Gold aventurine glass bowl from the 1950s-1960s made by the renowned firm Fratelli Toso.
This free form bowl with swirls of gold aventurine, all cased beneath in white.

Outstanding example of Murano glassmaking art, this beautiful sculpture was hand blown by the master glass artisans in Murano.
Executed Using the Sommerso method of glassmaking it is profusely filled with gold leaf on the inside. The gold gathers around and inside the bubbles, making them stand out.
This elegant beautiful piece of decorative glass art bowl, ashtray was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. It offers a rounded concave body with a pearlescent white exterior shell and a warm cream center with a subtle iridescence achieved with the addition of 24kt gold flecks. With its clean organic lines and sophisticated color palate, this bowl would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary.

The bowl is not signed, as Fratelli Toso did not sign their mid century pieces and only a small foil label, now removed/missing, was used. However, Pina's book on 20th Century Glass documents references this glass as Fratelli Toso.
