It is signed at the lower right corner by the artist. The canvas size is 20 x 30 inches, framed size is 28.25 x 38.25 inches. Framed in original gold and light brown frame, with fabric liner. It is in excellent condition.

About the artist:

Mabel Nelle Vinson was born in Iowa in 1891, the eldest child of Worth W. and Emma Belle Vinson. She grew up at various towns in central and western Iowa. In 1914 the Vinson family moved to southern California.
Mabel went to Greenville College, Greenville Illinois where she graduated in 1915.
Following her graduation from Greenville she moved to California to be with her family.
On June 26, 1931 she married Darcy Lee Cage.
She was a teacher in the Los Angeles Public Schools for many years, retiring in the 1940s.
Mabel was a person of many interests and accomplishments.
After her retirement she took up painting.
She exhibited her work at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, California Centennial, 1949; the California Art Club, 1955-59; and the Desert Art Center, 1965.
After the death of her husband in 1969 she continued to reside in her home for a few years but eventually moved to an apartment in Leisure World, Laguna Hills, California.
In 1989 Mabel worked on writing her memoirs. The result was a book which was published under the title "The Vinsons".
In August 1981 her extended family gathered at Leisure World to help her celebrate her 100th birthday.
In March 1995 Mabel died at Leisure World five months shy of her 104th birthday.Continue Reading See less
