Crafted in the 19th century, the buttery yellow painted case retains its original charcoal marble top (likely turquin marble) that is now very well patinated. Within the apron is a single, wide drawer using a pair of oval ring pulls to open. Unlocking the paneled doors enclosing the storage cabinet reveals two removable shelves in the usual fashion of a baker's table with the ability to fully slide out - sometimes called "baker boards". The interior shelves are not original but match the antique finish well. Over the decades this fixture has gained a wonderful patina to be an inviting and approachable storage piece for a kitchen, dining room, shop, or studio.
