A wonderful late 19th Century bamboo etagere/cabinet. Made by English firm W.F Needham. (1888-1901). Circa 1890.
The cabinet has 2 diagonally-set leaded, stained green glass doors, and two open compartments lined with embossed decorative paper. Above is the original central bevelled mirror with open work, flanked by small shelves, the ends of which having turned wooden caps and brass headed nails. The feet have brass caps with the front in a hoof style. Each cap has the maker's stamp.
Sturdy in structure with no woodworm, the cabinet has been cleaned and waxed.
The two open sections are 37cm wide x 38cm deep x 34cm high. The cupboard spaces are 38cm wide x 38cm deep x 33cm high. This piece has an attribution mark,
