A wonderful example of 1950s American modernism with a touch of cubist and impressionist influences. Richard Hackett was born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1917 and studied at the California School of Fine Arts in San Francisco from 1936 to 1939. He was the Gallery Supervisor at the San Francisco Museum of Art from 1944-1946. This painting has normal age-appropriate wear with a few chips on the top edge but otherwise nice and clean overall.
