This beautiful, enamelled sandstone vase is decorated with a cobalt blue, green and yellow drop glaze. Thulin's earthenware factory near Mons is founded in 1887. It is installed by the industrialist Victor Ducubu-Decaudin in an old sugar refinery. Thanks to significant capital, it transforms buildings and introduces three coal ovens and a steam engine. Victor Ducubu died in 1897, his two children became owners. The corporate name is earthenware of Thulin-A.ducobu et Cie. Between the two world wars, the factory employs 70 to 100 workers. She succeeds in selling her products in Belgium but also in Paris where an Eugène Val dealer installed Faubourg Saint Martin ensures the broadcast. The objects are made by flowing earthenware and covered with colored glazes or enamels.
