Son of a potter, Gilbert Méténier settled in Gannat in the Allier in the 1900s. He produced utilitarian ceramic pieces, but especially decorative pieces in flamed stoneware with iridescent and metallic reflections. This magnificent vase with drips, oblong in shape, is covered with a multicolored enamel all over. The dominant color is blue, the blue that we call Gannat blue, in tribute to Gilbert Méténier and his amazing craftmanship.
The vase is in very good condition, of good size. The blue enameling is magnificent. The vase is hand signed Gilbert Méténier on the base. This piece has an attribution mark,
