This piece is an authentic Lamp Base and Post by Frederic Carders Famed Steuben Glassworks. Notice the beautiful swirl and the original electric wire hole, factory made. This lamp probably left the factory as a lamp and someone probably took it apart along the way.
Gorgeous piece with no problems.
