An original watercolor on paper self portrait of the artist, Mariquita Jenny Moberly, British artist 1855-1937, Fantastically beautiful self portrait in the Pre-Raphael style, dated 1918, 11 3/4" x 8", scene of the artist at age 63 wearing a rich, multi-colored gown, standing before an easel, a vase filled with white foliage and red berries to the rear, as well as a lantern, a red drape and a framed painting, monogramed and dated in the lower left corner front, CA number 3894, CA purchased November 2022 from a southern England auction house.
The work is in pristine condition. It has been re-matted with White Museum matboard, decorative lines, Conservation Clear Glass, museum backing, framed in 3/4" Munn antiqued gold British/American reproduction moulding.
This is a fabulous work of art by a highly respected and much exhibited painter.
