The artisan showed exquisite tenderness and devotion in crafting this image. The sculpted corpus of the crucified Jesus is 16" high and 15" wide. The cross including the base on which it is mounted is 17"wide, 29" tall and 5" deep at the base. The wood, gesso and polychrome body of Christ is Spanish colonial, probably 18th century. The vividly painted wooden cross and base are newer. See less
