Antique Handmade, Hand carved carrier with handles at Either Side and Plank Slat Bottom. Raised Sides with Lattice Detail. Curved Arched Shape. Original ebony colored Finish over Solid Wood (could be heart pine, Rosewood or Walnut). Believed to be a Carved Wooden Coffin Cover, would be carried by Pallbearers and covered in flowers.
One of a kind and enormously interesting. Never seen anything like it. Amazing structural piece circa (at least) early 1900's.
Carvings " H " on either side of Handle, Front and Back - reminiscent of early Jewish Heritage or even Indian Descent.
