A 1981 abstract mixed media painting by American artist Harry Hilson (1935-2004). Composed of gouache, graphite, and colored pencil on paper, distinct geometric and biomorphic shapes and lines are illustrated in vibrant colors upon a purple-gray ground in this abstract work. Unframed, the painting is signed “hilson ‘81” to the lower left corner.
Harry Hilson was active from the 1950s-2000. He created a variety of works, including oil paintings, ink drawings, wool tapestries, and more. His studios could be found in New York, Los Angeles, and Aspen.
