Signed "Jon … Read more Oil painting of a woman bathing in the California sun by listed California artist Jon Blanchette (American, 1908-1987). Signed "Jon Blanchette" lower left. Unframed. Blanchette was born in Somerset, England and moved to Battle Creek, Michigan in 1918. Blanchette later studied at the Pittsburgh Art Institute. In 1932, Blanchette and his wife moved to Los Angeles where he painted, did architectural design and stage sets for Fox Studios. In 1948 he settled in Aptos, California where he painted fine art and taught privately. See less
