Beautiful eye-catching vintage glass and brass table lamp. The glass itself is a cranberry or ruby color (depending on your … more Beautiful eye-catching vintage glass and brass table lamp. The glass itself is a cranberry or ruby color (depending on your perspective), and it has a cut to clear design. The design is actually cut into the glass with a wheel - it is not pressed glass. The red part of the glass has an extraordinary coppery, shimmery finish when the light hits it. Hard to put into words, but absolutely captivating.

I cleaned the glass and brass parts of this lamp thoroughly. The glass part cleaned up well. The brass part didn't come to a shine. However, I only used very gentle products because I know nothing about polishing metal and didn't want to ruin it. I'll leave those efforts to the new owner ... that is, assuming you don't want to leave it in its natural, vintage condition.

Standing aruler next to it, it measures about 10 3/4" tall up to the top rim of the glass where the brass cap fits over it. Measuring up to the top of the harp, it's about 22 3/4" tall.

NO SHADE OR BULB IS INCLUDED.

I plugged it in, and it works. HOWEVER, on the cord, close to the plug end, is a wrap of electrical tape. I don't know whether that is because the two (long and skinny) halves of the cord were separating and someone wanted to keep them together, OR there were actual frayed wires coming through. Either way, it would probably be a good ideal to rewire this lamp. less
