This splendid pair of tapestries created by ottavio and rosita missoni for the maison comes from the missoni archive. The tapestries were mounted on wooden frame with opaque black frame.
between 1964 and 1965 ottavio and his wife rosita give away a wonderful professional partnership, combining the skills of both as she came from a family of weavers, while he had a company that produced sports suits. They began to produce colorful knitwear for biki, a famous milanese seamstress, then for the rinascente who chose some of their productions. From there to the first collection the step was very short. Ottavio missoni, also defined as the master of color, with square sheets and markers always in hand, transforms fashion into art. In fact, the missoni fabrics are masterpieces that are fine even in the frame.
