This is a Great Looking - Fine Quality and Very Unusual Vintage Sterling Silver and Hand Cut Crystal Marmalade - … Read more This is a Great Looking - Fine Quality and Very Unusual Vintage Sterling Silver and Hand Cut Crystal Marmalade - Jam Jar. It Comes From the Late Art Deco Period - Circa 1930s. It has Hinged - Swing Handle Activated Mechanical Lid. With the Handle in the up position, the lid is closed but when you move the Handle to the Right or Left it Mechanically Raises and Lowers the Lid. It has a Fine Hand Made Heavy - Thick Crystal Jar with Deep - Bold Hand Cut Decorated Features. It is Signed by the Maker - Embossed HAWKES and Marked STERLING. It is Also Faintly Marked - Acid Etched on the Bottom with The Hawkes Trademark. The T. G. Hawkes Company of Corning New York was Very Well Known for Producing Some of Americans Finest Crystal and Sterling Silver Items as This Piece Surely Represents. The Crystal Jar and Sterling Silver Mounts are in Very Nice Condition - No Damage - No Repairs - Displays Beautifully. It is Very Lightly Tarnished. It Comes with a Solid Sterling Silver Ladle - Spoon that was Made by The Frank M. Whiting Silver Company. Note that the Ladle Has Some Light Pitting - Damage to the Bowl - Bottom - See Last Photograph in my Listing.
It Measures 6 1/4 Tall including Carry The Handle in the up position.
It Measures 4 inches Long x 3 1/8 inches Wide.

The Cut Crystal Features have a Wonderful Clear Color & Sparkle in the Light - It is Much Prettier in Life than my Photographs can Capture.

THIS PIECE MUST BE HAND WASHED IN WARM WATER ONLY.
DO NOT PUT IN A AUTOMATIC DISHWASHER AT THE RISK OF DAMAGE - EXTREME HEAT COULD CAUSE INTERNAL CRACKS TO THE CRYSTAL.
