It is heavy, so meant to be used with confidence while serving from it. The 7 inch base has 12 facets carried through an hourglass shape made of solid glass, rising 5 & 1/2 inches. Cut into the bottom of the plate is a diamond pattern circling around two dozen pointed leafs in the center while leaving the top perfectly smooth. But the most striking feature is the drape of glass ribbons hanging down around the rim. They are 1/4 in thick, 1 & 1/4 in wide and drop down almost 2 inches from the plate rim.
