Rock Panorama: Pioneer Construction of a Boulder Fence, Located on the Niagara Escarpment - Photographic Print "Early settlers arrived on the Niagara Escarpment in the 1780s. These huge boulders were dragged in by ox-cart and placed in a fence formation in order to keep livestock in, and intruders out. I came across this old rock structure during a walk one Winter's day. I endeavored to capture the warm embrace of the moss as it shrouded the rockery. This velvety growth can be found on a variety of organic surfaces in the region. The moss provides a soft, interspersed covering of emerald green, which ingratiates the old rockery found throughout the region. My aim was to capture the velvet growth, of the moss, that hugs the boulders. This huge structure of rockery stands as tall as 170 cm in some instances, stacked side by side, forming the fence. The area is now overgrown with forest, and the fence rests in nature, long forgotten by man, taking on a new life in nature. 5 separate pictures, carefully taken from the same vantage point, were stitched together seamlessly, in order to recreate the scene. This panorama portrays the scene exactly as it appears when you arrive upon it." This piece has an attribution mark,
