A very unique Turkish Kars rug with four striking medallions in brown and pink surrounded by a wavy pink motif border.
Kars is a village located in Northeast of Turkey. The weavers in this area tend to make long runners and long odd size gallery rugs, with large medallions often in the form of large Caucasian designs. They rarely come in room sizes or larger. The wool used are usually naturally brown with thicker coarse, rugged piles intended to make the rugs last longer and able to endure heavy foot traffic.
