This hand knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak rug commands attention through a sumptuous red field and an elongated composition rooted in the symbolic vocabulary of Anatolian village weaving. Five imposing stepped medallions form a stately procession along the central axis, creating a sense of ceremony across the gallery-length format. Warm tones of brick, camel, ochre, olive, chocolate, and muted orange give the stunning masterwork a cultivated richness, while the restrained geometry lends it the character of an heirloom selected for an interior of distinction.

Each medallion takes the form of a stepped diamond-shaped lozenge, an ancient Anatolian device associated with protection and the feminine principle.
