This hand-knotted antique Persian Malayer rug features two diamond medallions each filled with four lozenges flanked with expanding lozenges. The medallions float on an open abrashed ecru field outlined with a triple stripes creating ziggurat mounds. The spandrels are filled with complementary lozenges. It is enclosed with a bird-on-a-pole motif border flanked with an inner Meander border and an outer carnation Meander border.. Rendered in variegated shades of tan, ecru, sand, taupe, beige, cerulean, royal blue, red, wine, and other accent colors. Abrash. hand-knotted wool. Made in Iran (Persia). Measures: 3'09 x 5'05.
