73804 Vintage Persian Mahal Rug, 10'05 x 13'07.
French Rococo meets relaxed refinement in this hand knotted wool vintage Persian Mahal rug. The elaborate floral design and rich color palette woven into this piece work together resulting in a regal yet lived-in look. The coveted open field of burgundy sets the stage for stylish levels of detail throughout the piece. Radiating from the center is an organic lobed floral medallion patterned with roses, acanthus leaves, florals and foliage. Ornate corner spandrels boasting baroque elements set the stage for a bounty of flower garlands and organic leafy mounds. An elegant millefleur border decorated with roses, floral bouquets, rosettes, acanthus leaves, and vine scrolls create a lush enclosure. The delicate carnation meander guard borders and sawtooth guard bands add a refreshing finish to the formal composition.
