The Guli Henna lattice design and traditional color palette woven into this piece work together creating a classic yet elevated feel. In this particular Mahal rug, the henna blooms are contained within a lattice made up of rosettes and boteh-shaped leaves. It is also sometimes referred to as the chestnut pattern, due to its resemblance of horse-chestnut blossoms.
