This hand-knotted wool vintage Berber Moroccan rug features an abrashed field covered with various ambiguous tribal symbols that carry great meaning in Ancient Berber culture. The tribal symbols of diamonds, eyes, lozenges, X-shapes, fused triangles, barley checkerboard motifs, Burdock symbols, zigzag chevron lines, symbolize womanhood, conception, protection, abundance, and fertility. This depth of meaning presented in a bold, energetic form is what make Moroccan rugs such as this one such wonderful additions to contemporary interiors.
