All … moreAll four chairs are in an excellent structural condition, they fold smoothly and extend into level and stable seating. All folding mechanisms still feel bulletproof, these chairs can go another 100 years! It's a testament how well home furnishings were manufactured in this country in the middle of the last century. The backrest laminated layers and leaf design lattice condition varies from chair to chair. Two chairs are in fine shape with minimal delamination to the backrest layers and lattice work (second to last photo top right.) One chair shows slight delamination to the the backrest layers and lattice work (second to last photo bottom left.) One chair shows heavy delamination to the backrest layers and lattice work. The lattice work looks to have been repaired at some point and a few top surface leaf pieces are missing. (last photo.) This chair could use a professional restoration to the lattice work, structurally these chairs are excellent. There are lots of scuffs, marks, scratches to all the wood surfaces and patina to the metal hardware, all typical of age and use. These chairs are almost 80 years old! The four vinyl seats show wear, discoloration, scratches and corner damage, please see all the detail photos. As we place some of our items with film and television period productions (who value authentic patina, distress and age) we have left these chairs in the original, as-found condition. These chairs could use a thorough cleaning and detailing if they are to be used in the home. Please review all the photos as we have made an effort to show all the imperfections. less
