Wassily Kandinsky ( 1866 - 1944 ) was a Russian born Modernist Abstract painter and art theorist. He is considered to be one of the most important Abstract artists of all time. He was an educator at the famous Bauhaus School in Germany, and is credited with theories relating to his original color compositions and concepts of spiritual life and humanity in his work. Artworks by Kandinsky are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums.

This lithograph print was printed in Japan in 1979. It features an artwork image originally created by Kandinsky in 1936 titled " Painting Within a Painting ".

The lithograph print is a page from an authentic vintage artists publication. The print plate image is attached to the page with a method called " tipping " where it is attached by hand to the page. This print is suitable for framing.

The print image measures 7" W X 10 1/4" H, on a page that is 9" W X 12 1/2" H. There is unrelated text on the reverse back side of the page that refers to a different artwork image.
