The style and composition of this original charcoal/pencil drawing is indicative of the abstract works by American artist, Peter Bodnar. This drawing appears to be of a (nude) woman lounging back with her hands behind her head. Displayed in the original dark gray painted wood from with white inset boarder and matching gray matting. Signed Peter Bodnar 7/12/63.
About the Artist:
Peter Bodnar (1928-2021)
Former Professor of Art at The University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana. He was on the faculty there for 30 years; was a visiting professor at numerous other institutions. He received grants from Tamarind and from National Endowment for the Arts. Bodnar created unique abstracts that follows a similar pattern that he used for the past 50 years.
