This example features a pleated surface like gathered fabric, with a lid fitted with a knob that depicts a rose bud. The bright white porcelain can be seen inside and even when peering into the spout. Such works were completely hand-painted, and in this instance the painter signed the work A.S. on the bottom next to the stamp of the painter's employer, Giraud, a family that had its origins in the regional porcelain industry in the 1920s.
