Handwoven with natural grasses and sisal fibers from local forest Sisal fibers are extracted from the long leaves of an agave plant. The fibers are cleaned, dried, colored, and then woven into beautiful basket bowls, trivets, coasters, and more.
Traditionally, women in east African countries learn weaving from their mothers, grandmothers and aunts and pass their techniques to next generation. All materials used by the weavers are locally sourced and renewable, making the baskets sustainable.
