A scarce early 19th Century country French fruitwood buffet wine server with beautifully aged warm rustic patina.
Hand-crafted of solid fruitwood, likely cherry, in the Bordeaux Region of Southwestern France, circa 1820, most likely commissioned by a vineyard winery, rare and unusual form showcasing Provincial Picardie influences, having a rectangular three board planked top, over a trio of frieze drawers, featuring central open shelf wine bottle storage designed to display large magnum wine bottles, flanked by a pair of cabinet doors opening to interior affixed with single shelf.
As warm and attractive as it is useful, having the ideal size and proportions for a variety of different uses, including as a farmhouse sideboard, credenza, wine tasting dry bar counter, wine cellar storage rack, media stand, oversized console, to name just a few.
