Heriz carpet is probably the most popular of the Persian village carpets. They are durable and hard-wearing and can last for generations. Heriz rug weavers often make them in geometric, bold patterns with a oversized medallions, that are crisply delineated against a rich red, rust or dark blue field. Such designs are traditional and often woven from memory. although some have an all-over layout often together with geometric floral motives and less frequently curvilinear floral motives. Hariz rugs are usually somewhat larger and robust and of high resistance and are more suitable for large rooms such as dining or living rooms.
This rug is hand knotted of wool and cotton in Pakistan in 2020’s.
