This " Posters by Painters " rare vintage 1978 first edition lithograph print extra large collector's Pop Art book is an incredibly special and unique book to add to your library collection.
The large collectors softcover Pop Art book with special die cut overlay cover details, is published by Harry N. Abrams Inc. Publishers New York, printed and bound in Japan in 1978. It features a survey collection of 29 posters by famous artists suitable for framing, with compelling accompanied text authored by Evelyn and Leo Farland, edited by Darlene Geis, book design by Nai Y. Chang.
This landmark volume brings together a collection of twenty-nine important posters curated by Evelyn and Leo Farland, who beginning in 1962 with the founding of the infamous New York poster gallery and publishing business " Poster Originals Limited ", created a groundbreaking innovation and lasting effect with their pioneering approach to the poster industry. From the early 1960's through the late 1980's, the Farlands worked with the leading American and European artists, international museums, and top galleries collaborating to create some of the most iconic and important art posters of the Mid Century Modern, Pop Art, Abstract Expressionist and Contemporary art movements.
Included in this book are posters by the artists Peter Blake, Richard Lindner, Alexander Calder, Milton Glaser, Paul Davis, Victor Vasarely, Ernest Trova, Hubert Hilscher, Will Barnet, John Graham, Man Ray, Roy Lichtenstein, Saul Steinberg, Shalom of Safed, Marc Chagall, Rene Magritte, Andy Warhol, Folon, Nicholas Krushenick, Robert Indiana, Tom Wesselmann, Claes Oldenburg, David Hockney, Gustav Klimt, Basilius Besler, Fernando Botero, Henri Matisse, Miro, and Foujita.
The rare out of print 1st edition extra large format Pop Art book measures 11 1/2" W X 16" H X 3/8" D, with 62 pages. It is printed on heavyweight premium paper stock featuring 29 lithograph print full page poster illustrations.
It is in excellent " like new " clean vintage condition consistent with age, light signs of handling, and light wear. Please see photos for condition reference. It is now being offered here for an excellent price.

- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
